Creative Writing

We aim to have students itching to get their story ideas on the page and get started. Book one of our writing workshops which has a focus on creative writing techniques tailor-made for your class.

Our Creative Learning Associates combine ideas they have obtained from Australian children and young adult authors, together with the artwork and/or process of the picture books we've exhibited at the Centre, to present enjoyable and practical writing workshops.

Students will engage through the lens of the WA English curriculum. Students will engage imaginatively and critically with literature and appreciate its aesthetic qualities. Through the study of a wide range of texts students will develop an understanding of themselves and their place in the world.

The workshop will contribute to the goals of the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration, in particular that All young Australians become confident and creative individuals, successful lifelong learners, and active and informed members of the community.
