Be part of our story

A donation to The Literature Centre is a gift to the young story and art makers in Western Australia.

It’s building a future where all young people have access to Australian literature created by a thriving, celebrated community of authors and illustrators. It’s helping make sure young readers are able to find their experiences represented in our programs. It’s creatively nurturing young people (and their teachers and schools), so they have the access, skills and inspiration to express their own stories.

When you donate to The Literature Centre, you share in our story, a story that for over thirty years has been delivering innovative and unique programs for young people, their families, educators and teachers.

The Literature Centre is a registered charity, and if your donation is over $2, it is tax deductible. In Australia, all tax-deductible gifts over $2 to registered Deductible Gift Recipients (DGR) can be deducted from taxable income for the year. By retaining your donation receipt, you can claim your contribution as a deduction at tax time.

Together we can help young people thrive.

The Page Turners

We have three Chapters of our donation program—The Page Turners. Read on for more information about what your donation will help make possible, and how we will acknowledge your support.

How our Page Turners make a difference:

Supporting Australian artists and musicians to deliver the innovative and deeply impactful multi-modal performance, The Sound of Picture Books, to young Western Australians, families and educators.

Nurturing young people participating in Young Writers and Young Illustrators, who work with experienced Australian authors and illustrators over the school year to develop their writing and illustration skills.

Helping to hold space for illustrators and authors in Western Australia through our Author & Illustrator School Visits.

Sending experienced and dynamic storytellers to remote and regional schools across Western Australia, helping to build literacy in children and young people.

Plus you’ll be supporting many other programs and initiatives integral to celebrating stories and young people in Australia.
