Gabriel Evans is an international selling picture book author and illustrator from Western Australia.

He has worked with some of Australia’s most loved publishers including Penguin Australia, Walker Books and Hardie Grant Egmont. His books have been sold in twelve countries and have been translated into ten languages. He was shortlisted in the 2021 Children’s Book Council Picture Book of the Year and was the inaugural recipient of the SCBWI ANZ Established Illustrator Award.

As well as making his own books he has collaborated with authors including Sonya Hartnett and Jane Godwin to illustrate their books. Gabriel works from a small studio on a hill surrounded by trees where he makes his books with the help of his sketchbook, paints, and coffee.

Gabriel's workshops are interactive sessions that focus on making picture books through a visual approach.
