Elaine Forrestal has been writing stories and poems since she was in primary school, but did not begin to write for publication until after her first four stories appeared in an anthology by Jean Chapman in 1983.
Born in Western Australia, she grew up in small country towns. After travelling the world and teaching for many years she now lives in Scarborough and writes full-time.
Elaine now has 18 published titles ranging from picture books for young children through Middle Grade adventure/mystery novels to historical fiction for Young Adults and beyond. She has presented workshops, festival and conference sessions and on TV, radio, podcasts and videos. Her historical novel, Black Jack Anderson has been optioned by Meaning Maker Ltd to be made into a feature film in the next two years.
