Deb Fitzpatrick is the author of novels for adults, young adults and children. Her books have been named Notable Books by the Children’s Book Council of Australia, shortlisted in the West Australian Young Readers Book Awards, published in the US, and optioned for film. Deb loves using stories from real life in her novels and regularly teaches creative writing at schools. She is the recipient of a 2021 Minderoo Artist Fund Residency, which will see her focus on a new work for adults. In early 2022 Deb’s seventh book, a biography for middle-grade readers tracing the incredible career of Australian doctor Ajay Rane, will be published by Melbourne’s Wild Dingo Press. Deb has a Master of Arts (creative writing) from UWA, and is married, with two teenage children, a kelpie and a free-ranging guinea pig.
