Karen Herbert is the author of the crime novels The River Mouth, The Castaways of Harewood Hall and Vertigo published through Fremantle Press. In 2021 she was awarded a Fellowship at the Katharine Susannah Pritchard Writers’ Centre for the unpublished script of Vertigo. Her fourth book, The Ghost Walk, will be released in 2025. Karen spent her childhood in Geraldton on the midwest coast of Australia before moving to Perth. She holds a Master of Science in Applied Psychology and has worked in aged care, disability services, higher education, Indigenous land management, social housing and the public sector. She is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a past President of the Fellowship of Australian Writers (WA). Karen lives in Perth, Western Australia.
