Sue deGennaro

Sue deGennaro is an author and an illustrator. She was born in Adelaide but currently resides in Victoria with her two children. Sue has a degree in film and has worked in a variety of roles, including as an aerialist in the circus, a teacher, an artist model, a window-washer, a rigger, a removalist, a street performer and a lolly girl in a lolly shop.

In 2009 Sue received a mentorship from the Australian Society of Authors.  Since then she has illustrated 11 Picture Books and was the author and illustrator of The Pros and Cons of Being a Frog which was awarded Shortlisted Book in the Childrens Book Council’s Book of the Year Awards- Early Childhood category 2013 and received a Notable Award in the Picture Book category.

Sue’s original artwork from the delightful picture book The Hairy-Nosed Wombats Find a New Home, written by Jackie French, can be seen at The Literature Centre in Term 1 and 2 of 2015.
