Lucy Christopher

Although born in Wales, Lucy Christopher grew up in Melbourne, Australia and has since spent many years traveling back and forth between Wales and Melbourne.

Lucy is a vibrant young author who is as enchanting as her novels.  Her published book, Flyaway, was born from her study of creative writing at Bath Spa University.  Back then, the novel was called The Long Flight and it earned her a distinction.

Her debut novel Stolen (Prime Minister’s Literary Awards shortlist 2011) is set in the wild and desolate outback.  Lucy's vivid and poignant descriptions are so powerful the setting becomes a character in the novel.

Lucy was a popular inclusion in a stellar line-up of 9 presenting authors for The Literature Centre's Celebrate Reading National Conference in October 2012.  During her residency in Fremantle, she has also inspired hundreds of budding young writers who attend the Centre's quarterly Talented Young Writers' Programme.

Lucy has made quite an impression with her first two novels, and has strengthened her fan base with entertaining and inspiring presentations.  Her much anticipated third book The Killing Woods was released in 2013.
