Libby Hathorn (NSW) is the author of more than 50 books and her work has been adapted for stage and screen. Her first novel Thunderwith (CBCA Honour Award) was published in 1983 and her picture book Way Home (1994 Kate Greenaway Medal) was ground breaking for the genre and is still studied in classrooms today. Four other YA picture books and five YA novels have won multiple awards.
Her latest novel, Eventual Poppy Day (2015), examines the nature of valour, the power of family and the endurance of love. Libby is a sophisticated, witty and thoughtful presenter and a highly acclaimed Australian author and poet. We are looking forward to welcoming her back to The Literature Centre as one of our keynote speakers for the 2016 Celebrate Reading National Conference - Insights into Quality Australian Literature for Young Adults, 28-29 October.
