Brian Falkner

Brian Falkner is a New Zealand author now living on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Brian's offbeat charm and intriguing demeanour is evident in his novels – a wonderful collection of thrilling page-turners. His first book was The Flea Thing (2003), followed by The Real Thing (2004), and The Super Freak (2005). His action adventure sci-fi novels, The Tomorrow Code (2008) and Brainjack (2009) have been published internationally, winning several awards and being short-listed for more. Brian is also known for The Project (2010), Northwood (2011), Maddy West and the Tongue Taker (2012) and his exciting Recon Team Angel trilogy, in which a group of teenagers must save the world from an army of aliens!

We welcomed Brian to The Literature Centre for the first time in Term 2, 2013.  As part of our Talented Young Writers’ Programme, he presented to hundreds of students from Year 7-12 in Fremantle, Albany and Geraldton.

It has been fantastic to see Brian really connect with students, who have found him so informative and entertaining during his presentations.  We look forward to getting to know him even better when he returns in Term 1, 2014 to share his knowledge and experience with hundreds of talented writers in Bunbury, Port Hedland and Newman.  Find out more at www.brianfalkner.co.nz
